You’ve probably heard aspiring celebrities say that they can’t wait to “see their face on a postage stamp.” Now, that dream is not only attainable, but quite affordable, to people who are neither rock stars nor royalty.
In fact, you can get any picture you want printed on your own custom address stamps. You can quickly, easily and inexpensively have stamps made with your face on them, or your artwork, company logo or Christmas photo…and there are quite a few ways to go about it.
Custom postage stamps add a creative touch to personal or business mail, and can be used to advertise and personalize your business with everyone you send them to, as well as the mail personnel who handle them.
There are plenty of companies that offer this service, and many of them can be found on the web. One of the most popular sources of custom address stamps is Zazzle.com.
On Zazzle.com, you can open your own online store and/or make various custom items, one very popular item being their custom postage stamps, or even look through and choose from stamps made by your favorite brands. All you need to do is upload an image of the correct size and type, apply it to the selected item (in this case, postage stamps) and you’re done! The Zazzle service is free to use, and all you need to pay for is what you order; they ship within forty-eight hours.
Zazzle is endorsed by and boasts a license from the United States Postal Service, although the post office also lists several other companies on their site offering similar services.
PictureItPostage.com works similarly to Zazzle, boasting free project creation software to upload your image. Again, you pay for your printed custom address stamps. PictureItPostage’s bigger stamp area and custom background color option draw attention to your stamp, making it a great choice for advertising.
Another custom postage stamp service is PhotoStamps.com, where you can upload your imagery to make your own stamps, or choose from your favorite professional football team, NASCAR driver, or even your college for your own special stamps. A book of twenty stamps from PostageStamps.com costs between five and ten dollars, depending on a few specifications. And the, well…postage…is free; just make sure you type in the code “USPS”.
StampExpressions.com is another option. It is owned by Pitney Bowes and works through Zazzle to create custom postage stamps. Also available on the site, though, you can get the Stamp Expressions Printer. It goes for $159.99 and allows you to design and print your own custom address stamps in the comfort of your own home or office.
There are plenty of options when it comes to creating your own postage. While these four services boast a license from the United States Postal Service, there are plenty of other vendors to look into online. Also, be sure to look around your local post office for the occasional open call for postage stamp designs to be sold at post offices nationwide.
